The Study Program of Doctoral Engineering Science (PSDIT) held its 82nd doctoral promotion on Monday, 11 November 2024, at the Wismakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University on Jl. P.B. Sudirman Denpasar. Promovendus I Gede Partha Sindhu, S.Pd., M.Pd with the dissertation titled Immersive Virtual Learning Model of CNN-Based Learner Learning Style received very satisfactory predicate.

Dr. I Gede Partha Sindhu, S.Pd., M.Pd explains that in this study, three image enhancement methods are proposed namely HE, CLAHE, and FCE to determine which one performs best. In the investigation process, the CLAHE method outperforms the other two models. In this study, a dataset was obtained independently by recording the learning style activities of learners in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. The dataset consists of three classes, each representing three activities (Sabda Pramana, Prakchasa Pramana, and Anumana Pramana). Based on the evaluation results of each combination, the model with ResNet-50 architecture gives the best performance with an accuracy of 99.39, precision of 99.37, recall of 99.42, and F1 score of 99.39. The proposed method to address the fluctuating challenge of frame classification when applying the ResNet-50 architecture is video classification. For video classification, the LRCN architecture and the ConvLSTM architecture are compared to obtain the best model. The best model is produced by the LRCN architecture with an accuracy of 94.34, precision of 94.12, recall of 95.00, and F1 score of 94.56. This LRCN architecture model is implemented in the process of applying Tri Pramana learning activity classification to virtual reality.
