The Study Program of Doctoral Engineering Science (PSDIT) has its 80th doctoral promotion on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, at the Wismakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, on Jl. P.B. Sudirman Denpasar. Promovenda Komang Ayu Triana Indah, ST., MT with the dissertation titled Multi-Task Deep Learning Encoder Decoder Neural Network on Visual Understanding Traffic Violations in Indonesian Language Context received a very satisfactory predicate.

Dr. Komang Ayu Triana Indah, ST., MT, explained that the introduction of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) in March 2021 began in several major cities in Indonesia to improve traffic flow monitoring and road user discipline. Traffic and law enforcement agencies need a video interpretation system that splits CCTV recordings into text and sentence segments as a sub-traffic information system to determine the type of violation and its sanction. In this study, the Inception V3 method was used for the feature extraction process of video data and compared with the MobileNetV2 and VGG16 methods during testing. Then, the Transformer Encoder and Decoder Neural Network methods are used in the image processing process (object capture, recognition, capture, and image annotation/generation). The system architecture is based on multi-task deep learning techniques that combine the concepts of CCN (Caption Content Network) and RCN (Relational Network) with the Indonesian language context. The Inception V3 method was compared with MobileNetV2 and VGG16 in the feature extraction process. The accuracy and validation results showed very good performance. In terms of accuracy, the Inception V3 and MobileNetV2 models performed the best, while VGG16 stood out due to the lack of overfitting and low loss values. The research results show that the developed method can classify traffic violation videos very well and accurately.
