68th Doctoral Promotion

The Study Program of Doctoral Engineering Science (PSDIT) held its 68th doctoral promotion on Monday, 27 May 2024, at the Wismakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, on Jl. P.B. Sudirman Denpasar. Promovenda Dewa Ayu Nyoman Sriastuti, ST., MT., with the dissertation titled A relationship model for land use, transportation infrastructure, and tourist destination development in Bali, received a very satisfactory predicate.

Dr. Dewa Ayu Nyoman Sriastuti, ST., MT, describes that tourism development affects land use and transportation infrastructure such as in South Bali and Central Bali, but there is an imbalance in tourism development especially between South Bali and North Bali, causing local economic disparities. This study aims to analyze the relationship between land use, transportation infrastructure, and tourist area development in Bali island. The study result shows that effective land use and adequate transportation infrastructure significantly contribute to the development of tourist areas in Bali. In addition, this study reveals that areas with some significant differences depend on the geographical location of the tourist areas. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the importance of integration between land use planning and transportation infrastructure development in tourism development strategies.
