67th Doctoral Promotion

The Study Program of Doctoral Engineering Science (PSDIT) held its 67th doctoral promotion on Monday, 20 May 2024, at the Wismakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, on Jl. P.B. Sudirman Denpasar. Promovendus I Putu Agus Eka Darma Udayana, S.Kom., MT with the dissertation titled Real Time Visual Fatigue Analysis Based on Deep Learning and Cloud, received a very satisfactory predicate.

Dr. I Putu Agus Eka Darma Udayana, S.Kom., MT, explains that visual fatigue, or eye strain, is one of the fatigue problems commonly faced by workers who constantly interact with digital screens. The purpose of this study is to develop a visual fatigue detection model to overcome the case where the head is not looking at the monitor screen and an image correction to overcome non-ideal lighting conditions using the convolutional neural network (CNN) method and gamma correction. The research results and their implications indicate that the developed visual fatigue detection system is unique in architecture and solution compared to previous fatigue detection studies. Moreover, the cloud-based system that applies the BrainVis architecture operates in real-time using web cameras and Electroencephalogram (EEG) observation, and is specialized for worker case studies is one of the novelties not seen in previous studies.
