66th Doctoral Promotion

The Study Program of Doctoral Engineering Science (PSDIT) held its 66th doctoral promotion on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Wismakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, on Jl. P.B. Sudirman Denpasar. Promovendus Ir. I Kadek Merta Wijaya, ST., MSc with the dissertation titled The Architectural Order Dynamics of The Nusa Penida Settlement Towards The Orientation of Sacred Places Luan-Teben, received a very satisfactory predicate.

Dr. Ir. I Kadek Merta Wijaya, ST., MSc explains that this study aims to gain insight into the orientation patterns of Luan and Teben in Nusa Penida settlements. These are motivated by the history of the conquest of Nusa Penida by the Gelgel and Klungkung kingdoms, the influence of mainland Bali, and the geographical context. This study concludes that while the development has so far been guided by the mountain and sea axes, it is an evolution and expansion of the traditional Balinese architectural concept, the knowledge of Luan and Teben orientation based on terrain elevation. Furthermore, the contribution of this study to Kevin Lynch's regional image is that village high streets function as footpaths, Dalem temple, Prajapati temple, Setra, hills, and agricultural areas as edges, spatial housing as a district, village intersection as a hub and Kahyangan Tiga Temple as spatial landmarks of Luan and Teben.

Syamsul Alam Paturusi, M.SP., Dr. Ir. Ngakan Ketut Acwin Dwijendra, S.T., MA., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., and Prof. Dr. Ir. I Made Adhika, M.SP, respectively. Acting as examiners are Prof. Dr. Ir. I Dewa Gede Agung Diasana Putra, S.T., M.T., IPU., Prof. Ir. I Nyoman Arya Thanaya, ME., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Ir. Ngakan Made Anom Wiryasa, M.T., IPM., Ni Made Yudantini, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D, and Tri Anggraini Prajnawrdhi, S.T., M.T., MURP., Ph.D. Academic invitees are Dr. Ir.
