43rd Doctoral Promotion
Doctoral Study Program in Engineering (PSDIT) Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University on Tuesday 27 September 2022, 10:00 WITA at the Wiswakarma Hall, Udayana University, held the 43rd doctoral promotion session. Promovenda Ni Kadek Astariani with a dissertation title Utilization of Slate Stone Powder as Precursor for the Manufacture of Geopolymer Binder. The promovenda study period is 3 years and 1 month and is declared to have passed with a very satisfactory predicate.
Dr. Ir. Ni Kadek Astariani, ST., MT., IPM in her presentation said that Portland cement as a concrete-forming material in its production requires a very large amount of energy and releases large amounts of CO2 gas into the air. This of course has a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, efforts are made to reduce cement in the manufacture of concrete. Meanwhile, geopolymer binder is a geosynthetic adhesive that uses materials that are not derived from cement. In this study, slate stone waste will be processed into powder which is used as a precursor in the manufacture of geopolymer binder. The results showed that geopolymer binder with slate stone powder as a precursor can be considered as a binder substitute for cement for non-structural components.
